Description
Student Globe replica 17th C. Mounted in a mahogany box, this interesting mini globe features a brass silver-plated meridian ring. The horizontal ring is a Zodiac ring. Original maps were engraved in copperplate for maximum detail 17th C. Map architecture was based on Gerard Mercator’s projection of the world made in the 1560’s. Originals are rare and very costly. Our maps are copied from archived globe maps. Globe makers issued new globes every couple of years with the latest discoveries.
