Description

Sargon II, King of the Neo-Assyrian Empire from 700 BC. Sargon II built a new Assyrian capital named Dur-Sarruken, a center of the Assyrian Empire. Relief scenes adorned his palace walls. Originals can be viewed in the Louvre, Paris, and the Iraq National Museum, Baghdad.
