Description
The Cartographer to the Royal Court in Paris made a hand-drawn, hand-colored pocket globe map for the Sun King. This unique little globe was made for Louis XIV, who wanted an empire not just in Europe, by his court cartographer. Only one existed. Made around 1665. Detailing with handle and finial was made for royal use. It turns the globe into a precious object easy to studying. Decorative and interesting. Small globes were very popular in the Age of Discovery, only few have survived the ages though.
