MONKEY FIST KEYHANGER, RED

From the age of sail, windjammers rounding Cape Horn, heading to San Fran. On arrival off to find fortune at the gold fields. The weighted monkey fist was used to throw a guide-line onshore, for a mooring cable to follow. Mooring without mishap was the message and needed skills. Making the knot was just another skill. A worthy symbol of sailor lore.
