The invention of the gimbal compass-ring was a small yet significant revolution. 16th C ships, relatively small, needed to maintain stability in rough seas. A gimbal-ring allowed the
compass to remain level at all times. Our 3.5-inch square mahogany compass is a beautiful example of classic navigation. Using polished or silver-plated brass, it showcases elegance and precision. Base can be customized with names and logos.
